Whilst researching for new products we frequently visit Patents Offices and other Patents Information Databases and are fortunate enough to find many innovative ideas (some centuries old) which we are able to source through to 21st Century Products and Suppliers.

Sadly, many of the ideas and inventions which we come upon do not lead us to products we are able to offer for sale but they do provide us with a whole load of very interesting facts and figures. Information ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous and from simply innovative to world shattering. Information we found so fascinating that we felt we simply had to share it with you.

The device includes a manually graspable handle (11) secured to a shaft (12) that has integrally secured thereto adjacent the handle a hydrodynamically adjustable paddle (13) that can be manually adjusted to provide a variable resistance to a user.

UK Patent No. GB1251780. Practice golf tee. No more lost balls due to badly hit shots. Use this golf tee which is equipped with photocells (7, 8) and which has a passage in its body (1) connected to an air supply whereby a pulse of air can dislodge the ball from the tee. The photocells monitor the path of the club head. If they detect that the player is about to miss-hit the ball a signal initiated at the control box (9) to send a puff of compressed air along the conduit and up the middle of the tee. This blows the ball off the tee so that the player misses it, and does not have to search for a lost ball.

International Patent Application WO02069773 Toilet seat. Designed to facilitate defecation for the user in a simple, comfortable manner and preventing soiling in the area around the anus when defecating. The split toilet seat spreads under the weight of the user which in turn spreads the user's buttocks apart, making defecation easier and more comfortable.

French Patent Application No. FR2694256. Amphibious horse drawn light vehicle. Use for Hydrotherapy for injured horses, water horse sport or low cost, adaptable transport on land or in water. The sulky is harnessed to the horse by a shaft (11) and has floats (13,45) for buoyancy when exercising in water. The vehicle may have two rear wheels (45) for land use (with optional paddles (59) for water use), pedal powered (49), on a tricycle frame (46).

UK Patent No. GB1439086. Large, luxury multi-bodied aircraft. An aircraft body is assembled by bundling together an odd number of existing aircraft bodies. As shown five Boeing 747 fuselages (1 to 5) are used, in chevron formation, and secured by straps (6, 7). The tail fins of fuselages 1, 4 and 5 are retained and turbo fan engines mounted at the tails of fuselages 2 and 3 and . Fan wings are also fitted. The aircraft is fitted with buoyancy tanks and can land on land or water. For safety reasons it is designed to fly just 100 or 200 feet above the ocean surface.
